I was deeply honoured to participate in a meaningful sharing session with the China Intellectual Disability Services Delegation, led by Teacher Liu Jinchao and Teacher Hu Hong, during their visit to Persatuan Kanner Melaka (PKM) Sheltered Employment Workshop.

First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Teacher Liu and Teacher Hu for their kind invitation to be part of this valuable exchange. It was a privilege to share my experience in supporting children and individuals with special needs in Malaysia, while also learning from the delegation's insights and experiences in providing services for individuals with intellectual disabilities in China.

Meaningful dialogue and international collaboration play an important role in advancing the quality of care and support for individuals with special needs. Through the exchange of ideas, service models, and practical experiences, we can continue to improve our approaches and create greater opportunities for those we serve.

During the visit, the delegation toured the PKM Sheltered Employment Workshop, The Different Store, and the Durian Tunggal Farm, where they observed our trainees participating in vocational training, product production, and agricultural activities. These initiatives demonstrate how structured support, skills training, and community engagement can empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to become more confident, independent, and actively involved in society.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Board Members, Advisors, Committee Members, Volunteers, Trainers, Parents, and Trainees whose dedication and teamwork made this visit both meaningful and successful.

I firmly believe that every opportunity to learn from one another strengthens our collective ability to serve individuals with special needs. By building stronger partnerships across countries and cultures, we can create a more inclusive society where every individual is respected, empowered, and given the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

I look forward to future collaborations and continued exchanges that will benefit families, professionals, and individuals with special needs both in Malaysia and beyond.
